The Liri Blues Festival , founded in 1988, is one of the most important Italian blues festivals. It takes place every July in Isola del Liri , 104 km east of Rome . Isola del Liri has been connecting a twin city with New Orleans since 1997 .

The festival

The Liri Blues Festival has been organized in Isola del Liri , a small town known for its 28 meter high waterfall in the heart of the old town , since 1988 . The festival is an annual, free event that usually takes place in July. In addition to the concerts in Piazza De 'Boncompagni, there are nightly jam sessions and street music. Important musicians such as Albert King, Buddy Guy and Dr. John.
