List of Members of the Carinthian State Parliament (23rd legislative period)
This list of members of the Carinthian state parliament (23rd legislative period) lists all the members of the Carinthian state parliament in the 23rd legislative period. The legislative period lasted from the constituent session of the Landtag on March 19, 1975 to the inauguration of the subsequent Landtag in the 24th legislative period on October 29, 1979.
After the state elections in 1975 , 20 of the 36 seats went to the Socialist Party of Austria (SPÖ), whose number of seats remained unchanged and again achieved an absolute majority. The Austrian People's Party (ÖVP) was also able to keep its twelve mandates and the Freedom Party of Austria (FPÖ) its four mandates.
The state parliament elected the state government Wagner II on March 19, 1975 .
Functions
Landtag President
The offices of the President of the State Parliament and his two deputies were assigned after the election result of the State Parliament election in the proportional system, whereby Rudolf Tillian (SPÖ) took over the office of First State Parliament President again . On the other hand, Hans Schumi (ÖVP) as second president and Josef Guttenbrunner (SPÖ) as third president were new in office . When they were elected, the three state parliament presidents only received the support of their respective state parliament club, i. H. Tillian and Guttenbrunner received 20 valid out of 36 votes, Schumi was able to unite 12 valid out of 36 votes.
Club chairmen
After the state elections, the members of the SPÖ formed the "Club of Socialist State Parliament Members of Carinthia" and elected the previous deputy chairman Wilhelm Sereinigg as the new club chairman , and Schantl Josef as his deputy. The members of the ÖVP formed the “Club of ÖVP Members” and appointed the previous deputy chairman, Alois Paulitsch, to be the club chairman . Herbert Tropper took over as deputy . Furthermore, the FPÖ members formed the “Club of Freedom Members in the Carinthian Landtag, with the Freedom Party of Austria in the Carinthian Landtag”. They elected Erich Silla as the new club chairman, Hans Wank was again appointed club chairman's deputy.
