The list of Billboard albums (1953) is a complete list of the albums that were placed in the 1953 calendar year . The top 10 determined over the year consisted of the sales figures of 1,400 stores throughout the United States. This year a total of 41 albums were placed. With this year the album charts were for the last time divided into 33 ⅓ and 45 min −1 according to playback speed .
With the issue of August 29, 1953, the Billboard album charts were set to the end of December 1953 and replaced by weekly changing surveys of the leading record labels Capitol Records , Columbia Records , Decca Records and RCA Records .
