List of United States Ambassadors in Turkmenistan
The list of ambassadors of the United States in Turkmenistan provides an overview of the heads of the US diplomatic mission in Turkmenistan since 1992. The former Soviet Union republic declared itself independent on October 27, 1991; the United States recognized the new state on December 25th of that year. On 19 February 1992 the two countries established diplomatic relations before the US then on 17 March this year Embassy in Ashgabat was opened, initially headed by charge d'affaires was Jeffrey White. By Joseph S. Hulings the first official took Ambassador in September 1992 on his service.
