United States Embassy in Windhoek
The United States Embassy in Windhoek is the diplomatic mission of the United States of America in Namibia . It is located on Lossen-Strasse near the Ausspannplatz in Windhoek - Central .
The current ambassador has been Thomas Daughton since late 2014 .
history
Originally founded as the US Liaison Office in Windhoek, after the recognition of Namibia's independence by the United States, it was upgraded to an embassy . The former director of the US Liaison Office , Roger A. McGuire , became the first head of the diplomatic mission in the independent Namibia ad interim .
