List of United States Ambassadors to Georgia
The list of US ambassadors to Georgia provides an overview of the heads of the US diplomatic mission in Georgia since 1992. The former Soviet Union republic declared itself independent on August 31, 1991; the United States recognized the new state on December 25th of that year. Diplomatic relations were established on March 29, 1993; on April 23 this year, the US has been Embassy in Tbilisi opened, the first under the leadership of Acting Chargé Carey Cavanaugh stood. With Kent N. Brown , the first official took Ambassador in September of the same year on his service.
