List of United States Ambassadors to Australia

John Berry, current US Ambassador to Australia

The list of ambassadors of the United States in Australia provides an overview of the heads of the US diplomatic mission in Australia since 1940. The post in Canberra has always been highly regarded, as the two states have maintained close ties, which include the ANZUS- Agreements are documented. It has also happened more often in the past that the US ambassador to Australia is a personal friend of the respective US president ; this was the case, for example, for the incumbent between 2009 and 2013, Jeff Bleich , who has known Barack Obama since the early 1990s.
