List of United States Ambassadors to Egypt

The list of ambassadors of the United States in Egypt contains all heads of the US mission in Cairo since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1848. As a result of the Six Day War , the Egyptian government broke off diplomatic relations with the United States on June 6, 1967 and took over it did not open again until February 28, 1974, five months after the end of the Yom Kippur War .
