List of Justice Ministers of Norway
This is a list of Norway's Justice Ministers . Justice ministers have been appointed since 1814. The current Minister of Justice has been Monica Mæland from the conservative Høyre party since January 2020 .
Third Ministry (Justice Issues, 1814)
On March 2, 1814, the Third Ministry responsible for the judiciary was founded. It was one of the first five ministries to emerge after the dissolution of the Danish-Norwegian Empire .

On November 30, 1814, the Third Ministry was renamed the Second Ministry.

Ministry of Justice and Police (1819)
On January 1, 1819, the Second Ministry was merged with the Third Ministry, which was responsible for the police, to form the Ministry of Justice and Police (Norwegian: Justis- og politidepartementet ).
Justice and Readiness Minister (2012–)
On January 1, 2012, the Ministry of Justice and Police was renamed the Ministry of Justice and Readiness (Norwegian: Justis- og beredskapsdepartementet ).

Illegal Minister of Justice and Police during the Nazi era (1940–1945)
On April 9, 1940 Norway was occupied by the German Reich and Haakon VII and the government of Johan Nygaardsvold left the country. A government later classified as illegal was then formed in Norway.
