This is a list of the heads of state of Iraq since 1920.
The Iraq was occupied British from 1918 until 1958 a Kingdom ( dynasty of the Hashemites ) (since 1932 Kingdom of Iraq formally independent), and since 1958 a republic .

- Between the beginning of the Allied occupation in April 2003 and the establishment of a new government in June 2004, the position of head of state was vacant, until December 2003 President Saddam Hussein was operating underground. The occupying powers established the coalition interim administration . In addition, an Iraqi government council was set up on July 13 to participate in the leadership of the country.
