The Langberger Weg , which begins at the Friedenshügel cemetery in Flensburg , used to be much longer because it formed a path with the Unterlangberg street to the west in Handewitt . This formerly longer Langberger Weg led to Langberg , consisting of Unterlangberg and Oberlangberg. The Langberger Weg used to be known as the Burgweg (see Burgweg). The street was originally called "Lillestraat", which means "little" street. The Große Straße is not far . The Lille Teater is also located by the street . The original name later changed to "Lilienstraße". In 1790, Dr. Wilhelm Gottlich Lilie (1751–1804) established a maternity hospital that worked with the midwifery school that had existed since 1755. By the way, Lilie was also headmaster and teacher at the midwifery school. The maternity hospital, the “Gebärhaus”, was built above the Marientor , on the north side of Marienstraße. The name change has been documented since 1835, that is, during the doctor's lifetime. It is therefore believed that the street was named after him.
