In 1840 the businessman and senator Matthias Holst (1796–1878) built a water oil mill there on the Scherebek river . In 1825, Holst married his cousin Wilhelmine Lilie with royal approval. Holst then named the mill after his wife. (She was the daughter of Dr. Wilhelm Gottlieb Lilie after a street was also named in Flensburg, namely Lilienstraße .) In 1854 the oil mill came into the possession of the carpenter Bunzen, who converted it into a sawmill . Around the 1920s, the mill had to give way to the embankment that is still there today. Only one building that was originally used as a warehouse remained. The street Wilhelminental was officially given its name in 1930. The building there was given the address Wilhelminental 36. During one of the air raids on Flensburg in 1942, this building was apparently destroyed by bombs. Immediately afterwards Heinrich Cederberg erected a residential and farm building there ( coordinate of the new residential building ). From the previous building this took over the sign with the wording “Wilhelminenthal Ao. 1840 ".
