List of administrative divisions of Buenos Aires
The Argentine capital Buenos Aires has 48 districts, which are grouped into 15 administrative districts, so-called Centro de Gestión y Participación Comunal (CGPC), formerly Centro de Gestión y Participación . These are decentralized administrative units in which various administrative tasks can be carried out, they offer social services and they are responsible for the cultural activities of their district. In the city of Cordoba , these institutions are called Centros de Participación Comunal .
The CGPCs will be active until the establishment of the so-called Comunas (city districts) is completed. According to Law No. 1,777 of September 1, 2005, the conversion should be completed by May 31, 2007. At the moment (May 2010), however, the implementation is not in sight.
