history
The place was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1427 as Lwbnyk and even at that time there were several smelters and hammer mills in the place. The iron trade only experienced a real boom in the 19th century. At the beginning of the 20th century, a magnesite quarry and a furnace were opened. 1956–1970 a large magnesite plant was built, which still exists today and operates under the name Slovmag.
