Muránska Huta (until 1927 Slovak "Muránska Huta"; Hungarian Murányhut [t] a ) is a municipality in the eastern center of Slovakia with 188 inhabitants (December 31, 2019), which for Okres Revúca of, a circle kraj Banskobystrický , and is located in the traditional Gemer landscape .
geography
The municipality is located between the Muránska planina and Stolické vrchy mountains on Hutnický potok , below the Predná hora saddle , just outside the border of the Muránska planina national park . The center of the village is at an altitude of 703 m nm and is 16 kilometers from Revúca .
Neighboring municipalities are Šumiac in the north, Muránska Zdychava in the east and southeast and Muráň in the southwest and west.
history
Muránska Huta was built in 1652 together with a glassworks in the territory of the Muráň Castle . The place was named Officina Vitraria (Latin for glassworks) in 1691 , then in 1808 as Murány-Huta or Muránská Huť . In 1715, 15 residents were employed in the hut, in 1828 there were 75 houses and 622 residents who were mainly employed as forest workers.
Until 1918, the place in Gemer and Kleinhont County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia, or now Slovakia.

According to the 2011 census, there were 198 inhabitants in Muránska Huta, of which 147 were Slovaks and one each was Magyar , Rome , Russian and Czech . 47 residents did not provide any information on ethnicity .
114 residents committed to the Roman Catholic Church, four residents to the Evangelical Church AB and three residents each to the Greek Catholic Church and the Orthodox Church. 25 residents had no denomination and the denomination of 49 residents was not determined.
