Nandraž (until 1927 Slovak "Nandráž"; Hungarian Nandrás ) is a municipality in the middle of Slovakia with 284 inhabitants (December 31, 2019), which for Okres Revúca of, a circle kraj Banskobystrický heard, and in the traditional landscape Gemer lies .
geography
The municipality is located in the southern part of the Slovak Ore Mountains , more precisely in the Revúcka vrchovina mountainous region , on a terraced plateau in the Nandražský potok valley . The center of the village lies at an altitude of 290 m nm and is six kilometers from Jelšava and 18 kilometers from Revúca .
Neighboring municipalities are Lubeník in the north, Jelšava in the east, Kameňany in the south, Rákoš in the west and Turčok in the northwest.
history
The place Nandraž was first mentioned in writing in 1318 as Nandras and took the name of the brook mentioned in 1243. In the Middle Ages the village was owned by the Bebek family, in the 14th century by the Štítnik branch and in the 15th century by the Plešivec branch . In 1427 it had a total of 24 portals . Iron ore deposits and forests made the economic boom possible, which ended in 1555 with Turkish pillage. The resettlement took place after 1610. In 1828 there were 97 houses and 751 inhabitants who were employed as farmers and fruit growers, and in the 19th century also as miners in iron ore and copper mines.
Until 1918, the place in Gemer and Kleinhont County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia, or now Slovakia. As a result of the First Vienna Arbitration Award, Nandraž was briefly part of Hungary again from November 1938 to March 1939.

According to the 2011 census, Nandraž had 293 inhabitants, including 188 Slovaks , 72 Roma and one Magyar . 32 residents gave no information on ethnicity .
145 residents committed to the Roman Catholic Church, 37 residents to the Evangelical Church AB and one resident to the Jehovah's Witnesses. 67 inhabitants had no denomination and the denomination of 43 inhabitants was not determined.
