Sása (German Sachsa , Hungarian szasza ) is a municipality in the eastern center of Slovakia with 208 inhabitants (December 31, 2019), which for Okres Revúca of, a circle kraj Banskobystrický heard and in the traditional landscape Gemer lies.
geography
The municipality is located in the southern half of the Slovak Ore Mountains , more precisely in its subunit Revúcka vrchovina (Revúca Mountains), in the valley of the Turiec River . The center of the village is at an altitude of 284 m nm and is 28 kilometers from Revúca and Rimavská Sobota .
Neighboring municipalities are Ratková in the north, Kameňany in the east, Rybník in the southwest and Ratkovská Lehota in the west.
history
Sása was first mentioned in writing as Zazteluk in 1266 and bears the name of Saxons who once colonized the area. The village was owned by families such as Derencsényi , Bakos and Lórántffy and was last in the territory of the Muráň Castle . The inhabitants were employed as shepherds and forest workers, but also as miners in the surrounding mines, carters, lime burners and charcoal burners.
Until 1918, the place in Gemer and Kleinhont County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia, or now Slovakia.
From 1964 to 1990 Sása was part of the neighboring parish Ratkovská Lehota.

According to the 2011 census, 178 inhabitants lived in Sása, including 131 Slovaks , 23 Roma , two Magyars and one Czech . 21 residents gave no information on ethnicity .
94 residents supported the Roman Catholic Church and 40 residents supported the Evangelical Church AB. 18 residents were non-denominational and 26 residents had no denomination.
Buildings
- Towerless Evangelical Tolerance Church from 1787, rebuilt in classicist style after a fire in 1854. The neo-baroque altar dates from this period.

traffic
A 3rd order street runs through Sása between Ratková and Gemerská Ves . There is no direct rail connection.
