Muránska Dlhá Lúka (until 1927 in Slovak "Muráňska Dlhá Lúka"; German Langewiese , Hungarian Murányhosszúrét ) is a municipality in the center of Slovakia , with 901 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) and belongs to the Okres Revúca , a district of the Banskobystrický kraj .
geography
The village is located in the upper Muráň valley in the Slovak Ore Mountains in the traditional Gemer region . The center of the village lies at an altitude of 345 m nm and is five kilometers north of Revúca .
history
The place was first named Hoszu Reth in 1357 and the name is derived from the formerly large pastures of the Muráň Castle estate . The inhabitants worked as charcoal burners, shepherds and were employed in saws and hammer mills. In addition to agriculture and forestry, they also work in surrounding industrial companies today.
In 1828 there were 138 houses and 1,184 inhabitants.
