Luka Wraber (born September 7, 1990 in Wiener Neustadt ) is an Austrian badminton player . He is a four-time Austrian national champion (2012, 2016–2018).

Athletic career

Wraber has been the undefeated Austrian champion since 2016.

In 2008 he fought his way to 2nd place at the Badminton Europe Circuit Finals and in 2009 was the first Austrian junior champion in the U19 age group. In 2010, Wraber won his first adult medal, where he won bronze in the men's singles. Only one year later he won silver in the men's singles and doubles together with Roman Zinnwald . In 2012 he finally became national title holder for the first time. In the same year Wraber took part in the Badminton European Championships and came third at the Bulgaria Open 2012 and the Slovenia International. In 2014 he won Mauritius International , South Africa International and Botswana International . In 2015 he represented Austria at the European Games in Baku.

On August 13, 2015 Wraber achieved his best placement in the badminton world rankings with the 52nd place .

She is a military athlete in the Austrian Armed Forces with the rank of platoon leader .

Personal

Wraber grew up as the elder of two brothers in his Lower Austrian birthplace, Wiener Neustadt . He attended the Musikvolksschule Wiener Neustadt (1996-2000) and the Babenbergerring Federal High School , which Wraber graduated with the Matura in 2008. Since 2009 he studied Jus at the University of Vienna . The 178 cm tall Wraber is right-handed and speaks German, Slovenian and English. His grandfather was the Slovenian botanist Tone Wraber (1938-2010).
