Lynsey Sharp (born July 11, 1990 in Dumfries , Scotland ) is a British middle -distance runner who specializes in the 800-meter distance . Her biggest success so far is winning the gold medal at the 2012 European Championships in Helsinki.
Career
Lynsey Sharp won the silver medal in the 800-meter run at the U23 European Championships in Ostrava in 2011 and the gold medal at the 2012 European Championships in Helsinki a year later . In both competitions she moved up one place due to the subsequent disqualification of Jelena Arshakova from Russia , in which excessive hemoglobin values were found. At the 2012 Olympic Games in London , Lynsey Sharp reached the semifinals. In 2014 she won the silver medal for Scotland starting at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow .
