Natalija Oleksandriwna Krol ( Ukrainian Наталія Олександрівна Кроль ., English transcription Nataliya Krol , born Прищепа - Pryschtschepa - Pryshchepa * 11. September 1994 in Rivne ) is a locked Ukrainian athlete who in middle distance running took and focus on the 800 meters had specialized. Athletic career

Natalija Krol gained her first international experience in 2011 at the World Youth Championships near Lille , where she reached the semi-finals over 800 meters and was eliminated there with 2: 08.30 minutes. The following year she took part in the 1500 meter run at the Junior World Championships in Barcelona , but failed with 4: 29.00 minutes in the run-up. In 2013 she won the European Junior Championships in Rieti in 4: 18.51 min over 1500 meters and in 2014 she reached the final at the European Championships in Zurich , where she finished tenth with 4: 11.86 min.

At the U23 European Championships in Tallinn in 2015 , she won the bronze medal in 4: 06.29 minutes.

In 2016, she surprisingly won the gold medal in the 800-meter run at the European Championships in Amsterdam in 1: 59.70 min. However, she was criticized for having left the track hobbling over 1500 meters the day before and for not having any health problems after her victory. On the home straight she took victory from fifth with a very fast final sprint. So she qualified for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , where she was eliminated in the semifinals with 1: 59.95 min .

After a mixed season in 2017, Krol was able to improve significantly again at the European Championships in Berlin in 2018 and successfully defended her title over 800 meters in 2: 00.38 min. Then she was fourth in the Continental Cup in Ostrava in 1: 59.58 min. The following year she took part in the World Championships in Doha for the first time and reached the semi-finals there , where she was eliminated with 2: 01.24 minutes. Then she won the World Military Games in Wuhan in 2: 05.14 minutes over 800 meters and only had to admit defeat to Kenyan Winny Chebet over 1500 meters in 4: 26.63 minutes and thus won silver.

In 2011, 2013 and 2014, 2016 and 2018, Krol was Ukrainian champion in the 1500 meter run and in 2016 and 2018 also over 800 meters. In 2013 she won over 1500 meters indoors.

Doping ban 2020

In February 2020, Krol was temporarily suspended due to a positive doping test for the substance hydrochlorothiazide and suspended for 20 months in August 2020.
