Markus Keller (triathlete)
Markus Keller (born April 21, 1967 ) is a former Swiss triathlete who mainly competed in races over the Olympic distance (1.5 km swimming, 40 km cycling and 10 km running). He is Swiss triathlon champion (1994, 1996, 1999), duathlon (1995) and Olympic athlete (2000).
Career
Markus Keller has been practicing triathlons since 1989. He was a member of the national triathlon team from 1991 to 2000. He started for Switzerland in 2000 at the Olympic Games in Sydney , where he finished 18th. He is a three-time Swiss champion over the Olympic distance and was also a Swiss duathlon champion in 1995.
In 2009, Markus Keller applied for the position of head of competitive sport at the Swiss Triathlon Association, Swiss Triathlon . Since 2012 he has also competed in races in the middle distance.
His wife Jasmine Keller-Hämmerle is also a former Austrian triathlete and multiple national champion.
