Martin Davídek (born August 7, 1986 in Opava , Czechoslovakia ) is a German - Czech ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Bayreuth Tigers in the DEL2 since 2019 .

Career

Born in the Czech Republic, he began his career as an ice hockey player with his hometown club HC Slezan Opava , for which he first appeared in the U18 team in 2000. With a short break in the 2003/04 season, in which he played for twelve matches for the HC Sparta Prague U20 team, he remained loyal to the youth division of his home club until 2005, before joining VHK's U20 squad during the season Vsetín changed.

In Vsetín he celebrated in the following season 2005/06 his premiere in the professional team that played in the extra league. During the season he was loaned to the second division KLH Vajgar Jindřichův Hradec . In the following year he was only used in Vsetín, but only reached nine points in 37 games. He was then used for the 2007/08 to 2009/10 seasons at the second division club HC Olomouc , but was still under contract with Vsetín. The winger spent his most successful season to date in Olomouc in 2009/10: he scored 32 points in 42 games, including 19 goals. During this time, the right-handed shooter also played a game for the Extraliga team Orli Znojmo and HC Kometa Brno .

In the following season 2010/11 Davídek was taken by Pirati Chomutov from the 1st division under contract. There he completed 24 games, for nine games he ran on as a "loan" for the competitor SK Kadaň . The following year it seemed as if this interplay between Chomutov and Kadaň would repeat itself for the striker until he signed a two-year contract with the Landshut Cannibals from the 2nd ice hockey Bundesliga in December 2011 .

In the summer of 2014 Davídek moved to the reigning German champion ERC Ingolstadt . In the following two years he was used 70 times in the DEL for the ERC and scored 12 points. However, due to several injuries, he missed many games and could not build on the performances from Landshut. After the 2015/16 season, in which the ERCI was eliminated in the playoff quarter-finals, Davídek did not receive a new contract and therefore switched back to the DEL2 to the Dresdner Eislöwen. For the Eislöwen Davidek was on the ice 138 times in three seasons, scored 50 goals and provided 47 assists. After the 2018/19 season he did not receive a new contract in Dresden and moved to the Bayreuth Tigers .
