Mathias Beche
Mathias Beche (born June 28, 1986 in Geneva ) is a French - Swiss racing driver . He competes with a Swiss license. He started in the European Le Mans Series in 2012 .
Career
Beche began his motorsport career in karting in 1992 . In 2007, Beche switched to formula racing . He started in the Asian Formula Renault Challenge and won a race. He finished the season fifth overall. In 2008, Beche competed in Formula Asia 2.0 . He won a race and was on the podium a total of eight times. With 144 to 215 points he was runner-up behind Felix Rosenqvist . In addition, Beche took part in two races each of the Asian Formula Renault Challenge and the Asian Formula Renault V6.
In 2009, Beche switched to endurance racing. He initially took part in Formula Le Mans . He won two races and was third in the drivers' championship. In 2010 , Beche was without a permanent cockpit. He competed in four out of five races in the Le Mans Series . Three times in Formula Le Mans, once in the LMGT1. He achieved a podium placement in each category. He also took part in four races of the FIA GT3 European Championship . He also reached a podium in this series. In 2011 , Beche competed in the Le Mans Series for TDS Racing in the LMP2 class. In this he achieved two victories together with his teammates Jody Firth and Pierre Thiriet and finished the season in fourth place in the LMP2 classification. He also took part in an event of the FIA GT1 World Championship .
In 2012 , Beche stayed with his team, which this season will compete as Thiriet by TDS Racing . The racing series has since been renamed the European Le Mans Series . In qualifying for the first race, Beche achieved pole position . He then won the race together with his teammate Thiriet. After the first race, Beche and Thiriet led the drivers' standings in the LMP2 class. In addition, he will compete for Thiriet by TDS Racing in the 2012 24 Hours of Le Mans .
