In August 2019 it was reported for the first time that a sequel to Matrix Revolutions should appear. The aim is Lana Wachowski , along with Aleksandar Hemon and David Mitchell wrote the screenplay and shared with Grant Hill for Warner Bros. Pictures and Village Roadshow will produce the film, act as director. Regarding her commitment, she said that many of the ideas about reality that she and her sister Lilly had over 20 years ago are all the more relevant today. She is also grateful to be able to work with the actors again. So Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss are supposed to re-record their roles as Neo and Trinity from previous films. The John Wick directors Chad Stahelski and David Leitch , who already worked on the original trilogy as stunt double and stunt man, are also involved in the production. In downtown California, a controlled explosion caused $ 2,000 in damage as the plastic on street signs melted, among other things.
