Max Leroy Mésidor

Max Leroy Mésidor (born January 6, 1962 in Saint-Marc ) is a Haitian clergyman and Roman Catholic Archbishop of Port-au-Prince .

Life

Max Leroy Mésidor was ordained a priest on January 10, 1988 . After years as a chaplain in the diocese of Gonaïves , he became pastor of the parish Notre-Dame de la Visitation in Gonaïves . From 1998 to 2000 he studied pastoral theology at the Center International d'Études de la Formation Religieuse “Lumen Vitae” in Brussels and obtained a licentiate in theology. He was then vicar in Petite-Rivière-de-l'Artibonite and vicar and pastor in Gonaïves. From 2000 to 2008 he was pastor of the parish of Saint-Marc in his hometown of the same name. Since 2008 he has been pastor of the cathedral parish of St. Charles Borromée in Gonaïves Vicar General of the Diocese of Gonaïves.

Pope Benedict XVI appointed him Bishop of Fort-Liberté on June 9, 2012 . He was ordained bishop by the Apostolic Nuncio in Haiti , Archbishop Bernardito Cleopas Auza , on July 28 of the same year; Co- consecrators were Chibly Langlois , Bishop of Les Cayes , and Yves-Marie Péan CSC , Bishop of Les Gonaïves .

On November 1, 2013 Pope appointed him Francis to Coadjutor Archbishop of Cap-Haïtien . With the resignation of Louis Kébreau SDB on November 22, 2014, he succeeded him as Archbishop of Cap-Haïtien.

Pope Francis appointed him Archbishop of Port-au-Prince on October 7, 2017. The inauguration took place on January 6 of the following year.
