Michael Krüger (politician)

Michael Krüger (born December 26, 1955 in Linz ) is an Austrian lawyer and former politician ( FPÖ ). From February 4 to February 29, 2000 he was Austrian Minister of Justice . From November 1994 to February 2000 and from March 2000 to December 2002 he was a member of the National Council .

Life

Michael Krüger studied law in Vienna and Linz and began his legal career with a focus on civil and commercial law in 1985. In 1993 he joined the FPÖ under Jörg Haider . On November 7, 1994, Krüger entered the National Council .

In the FPÖ he first acted as culture and media spokesman and was finally sworn in as Minister of Justice on February 4, 2000. His plan to procure a vehicle from the manufacturer Jaguar as a company car caused criticism . 25 days later he announced his resignation. He justified his resignation with health reasons. Before his retirement he was through an interview in the news magazine profile in the headlines where it joins with the former ORF presenter Dieter Chmelar had replaced a childhood friend about private experiences. After his resignation, Krüger remained a member of the National Council until December 19, 2002. Today Krüger works as a lawyer, particularly in media matters. He represents the Styria Media Group and Radio Arabella , among others .

In 2005 Krüger left the FPÖ. Since 2012 he has acted as a lawyer and legal advisor for Team Stronach .
