Mois (born June 2, 1991 in Urus-Martan , Checheno-Ingush Republic , Soviet Union ; bourgeois Zelemkhan Arsanov , Russian : Зелимхан Арсанов , called "Alim") is a German-language web video producer and rapper with Chechen roots.

life and career

When he was 15 years old, Zelemkhan Arsanov and his family came to Austria in Styria during the Chechen War . After graduating from high school , he studied psychology in Vienna and dropped out after four semesters. In 2018 Arsanov moved to the Ruhr area with his wife and son, who was born in the same year, and to Cologne in 2020 .

On March 2, 2017, Arsanov created the Mois channel on the YouTube video platform and began uploading videos in which he reported on and commented on events within the German rap scene . In October 2017, the rapper Kollegah mentioned Mois in an Instagram story in a positive context. Later on, Kollegah and Farid Bang contacted Mois. At the time he also met the rapper Sun Diego . In January 2019, Mois released the video single Keller or Cockschelle as a thank you for over 500,000 YouTube subscribers . Sun Diego takes over the chorus and appears in the video. In June 2019, the Mois channel reached the one million subscriber mark. His second single in 1991 followed in August 2019 , which, according to Mois, is a very personal song in contrast to Keller or Cockschelle .

In May 2019 he founded his own label called Keller GmbH . As the first artist on his label, Maestro , a rapper from Duisburg with Turkish roots, was signed, who was already active as a presenter in formats such as Erkenne die Line or Richtig or Faust before his first single on the Mois channel .

The video singles Augen , Patte Schnell (feat. Maestro) and No weaknesses (with Sinan-G ) followed in 1991 . In December 2019, Mois released the single Dada . The song about his newborn son received over 200,000 streams on Spotify and over 750,000 clicks on YouTube within three days . At the end of the year the whole crew brought out the track Thank you (together with Maestro, Sinan-G, Manuellsen and Milano ).

Since November 1, 2019, a live stream with Manuals has been published on YouTube every week. In one part of the stream they react to new releases of well-known German rappers and in the other part to songs by lesser-known artists (“newcomer reactions”). In exchange for a small donation, anyone can suggest an artist in the comments during the stream, to which Mois and Manuellsen will then react. Mois also announced that they want to sign a few "newcomers" to whom they had previously reacted. As a result, the rappers Arman, Sokko167 & Albozz were signed in 2020.

Most of his videos appear on his main channel Mois (comedy / entertainment). Furthermore, Arsanov operates the channels Alim (psychology topics) and Muis ( vlogs ). The DreiBeiner channel has been renamed Unfriendly , where all reaction highlights will come from the stream in the future. His channel Friendlich has been renamed Keller , where all of the team's music videos will appear in the future.
