Morgan County is a county in the state of Utah in the United States . In 2010, Morgan County had 9,469 residents. The administrative seat ( county seat ) is Morgan , which is also the largest city in the county.

Morgan County covers an area of 1,582 square kilometers, of which 4 square kilometers are water. It is bordered by counties in a clockwise direction: Weber County , Rich County , Summit County , Salt Lake County, and Davis County .
history
Morgan County was founded in 1862. It was named after Jededia Morgan Grant , the father of Heber J. Grant , who was the head of the Mormon Church .

Morgan County had a population of 7,129 as of the 2000 census . There were 2,046 households and 1,782 families. The population density was 5 people per square kilometer. The racial the population was composed of 98.11% White, 0.04% African American, 0.18% Native American, 0.15% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, and 0.45% other races Groups; 1.07% were from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race was 1.44% of the population.
Of the 2,046 households, 49.70% had children and adolescents under the age of 18 living with them. 79.60% were married couples living together, 5.60% were single mothers. 12.90% were not families. 11.70% were single households and 5.80% had someone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 3.48 and the average family size was 3.81 people.
For the entire county, the population was composed of 37.10% residents under the age of 18, 9.70% between 18 and 24 years of age, 24.30% between 25 and 44 years of age, 20.20% between 45 and 64 years of age 8.70% were 65 years of age or over. The median age was 28 years. For every 100 females there were 102.90 males, for every 100 females aged 18 and over there were 99.70 males.
The median income for a household in the county is $ 50,273 , and the median income for a family is $ 53,365. Males had a median income of $ 42,350 versus $ 23,036 for females.
