Siegmund Moritz von Prittwitz (born June 29, 1747 on Gut Ober-Pontwitz ; † May 14, 1822 in Oels ) was a Prussian lieutenant general and master of the goods in Ober- and Unter-Ludwigsdorf in the district of Oels .

Life

origin

Von Prittwitz came from the old, widespread Silesian noble family of the von Prittwitz family . He was the son of the landowner Moritz Christian von Prittwitz (* November 23, 1711; † April 24, 1769) and his first wife Friederike Erdmunthe, born von Clesel from the Lendschütz family, Wohlau (* November 27, 1722; † 19. October 1760).

Military career

In 1762 Prittwitz was employed as an Estandartenjunker in the cuirassier regiment "von Schlabrendorff" of the Prussian army in Breslau . Here he was promoted to cornet in 1764 and on December 2, 1772 to lieutenant . He then served in the hussar regiment "von Werner" and took part in the War of the Bavarian Succession in 1778/79 . On September 6, 1780, he was promoted to the rank of staff assistant master and then served as squadron chief in the hussar regiment "von Rosenpusch" in Konstadt .

On July 1, 1813, he was granted his departure with an annual pension of 1,000 thalers . Shortly afterwards, on August 4, 1813, Prittwitz was given the character of Lieutenant General. He died on May 14, 1822 in Oels and was buried three days later in the family crypt in Ludwigsdorf.

Prittwitz married on August 4, 1791 on Gut Droschkau, Namslau district , Louise Wilhelmine Friederike von Poser and Groß-Naedlitz (1775-1833). She was the daughter of Gotthelf Heinrich Christian Wilhelm von Poser and Groß-Naedlitz († 1801), owner of the Nassadel (Groß Wartenberg district) and Droschkau, Namslau district, and Karoline Christiane Riemer von Riemberg (†) who was widowed from her first marriage. 1819).
