NGC 3183 = NGC 3218 is a bar-spiral galaxy of the Hubble-type SBbc in the constellation Dragon in the northern sky . It is an estimated 144 million light-years from the Milky Way and about 95,000 light-years across. It is a member of the NGC 3147 group of four galaxies ( LGG 193 ).
The object was discovered by Heinrich Louis d'Arrest on September 28, 1865 .
