NGC 3200 is a barred spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBbc in the constellation Hydra south of the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 149 million light years from the Milky Way and about 190,000 light years in diameter.
The supernova SN 1953D was observed here.
The object was discovered on April 10, 1882 by Edward Singleton Holden .
