NGC 3175 is a bar-spiral galaxy with extensive star formation regions of the Hubble type SBab in the constellation Antlia in the southern sky . It is around 40 million light years away from the Milky Way and is around 70,000 light years in diameter .
Together with NGC 3113 , NGC 3125 , NGC 3137 and ESO 499-37 , it forms the small NGC 3175 group .
The object was discovered by John Herschel on March 30, 1835 .
