NGC 3125 is a dwarf galaxy with extensive star formation from Hubble type in? in the constellation Antlia in the southern sky . It is around 40 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 10,000 light years .
Together with NGC 3113 , NGC 3137 , NGC 3175 and PGC 29166 it forms the small NGC 3175 group .
The object was discovered on March 30, 1835 by John Herschel with an 18.7-inch telescope.
