NGC 5359 is an open star cluster (type definition "OCL") in the constellation Circle and about 2500 parsecs from Earth. It was discovered on May 17, 1835 by John Herschel with an 18-inch reflector telescope, which during two observations “Cluster VIII class, vL, loose; straggling; stars L&S; fills field.
