NGC 5351 is a 12.2 mag bright bar spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBb in the constellation Hounds in the northern sky . It is an estimated 165 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 140,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of ​​the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 5341 , NGC 5349 , IC 4339 , IC 4340 .

The object was discovered on May 16, 1787 by Wilhelm Herschel with an 18.7-inch reflector telescope, who described it as “F, E in the parallel, bM, 1.5 ′ long, 1 ′ broad”.
