NGC 5333 is a 10.9 mag bright, lens-shaped galaxy of the Hubble-type SB0 in the constellation Centaur , about 116 million light years from the Milky Way.
It was discovered on July 2nd, 1834 by John Herschel with an 18-inch reflector telescope, who noted "vF, vS, R, 6 arcseconds, has a star 8th mag, 3 ′ following in parallel".
