NGC 5320 is a 12.2 mag bright bar -spiral Seyfert galaxy of the Hubble type SBc in the constellation Hounds . It is estimated to be 121 million light years from the Milky Way .
The object was discovered on April 9, 1787 by Wilhelm Herschel with an 18.7-inch reflector telescope, who described it as "pB, pL, vgmbM".
