NGC 5302 is a 12.2 mag barred spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SB0-a in the constellation Centaur and an estimated 155 million light years from the Milky Way.
It was discovered on March 30, 1835 by John Herschel with an 18-inch reflector telescope, which noted "F, R, gbM, 30 arcseconds".
