NGC 5292 is a 12.0 likes bright spiral galaxy of Hubble type Sab in the constellation Centaurus and about 194 million light-years from the Milky Way center. It has an active galactic nucleus from LINER-type and was on 30 March 1835 by John Herschel discovered a 18-inch reflecting telescope of this "pF, R, GBM, 20 arcseconds, has 2 or 3 stars close to it" noted .
