NGC 5283 is a 13.5 likes bright lenticular Seyfert galaxy (type 2) from the Hubble type S0 in the constellation Centaurus and about 145 million light years away from the Milky Way.
It was discovered by Heinrich Louis d'Arrest on October 7, 1866 .
