NGC 5259 is a 14.2 likes bright elliptical galaxy from the Hubble type E in the constellation of hunting dogs . It is about 822 million light years from the Milky Way and interacts with the galaxy SDSS J133923.13 + 305932.4 .
The object was discovered on April 27, 1865 by the German-Danish astronomer Heinrich Louis d'Arrest .
