NGC 5251 is a 13.9 likes bright lenticular radio galaxy from the Hubble type S0-a in the constellation Bootes . It is estimated to be 493 million light years from the Milky Way .
The object was discovered on April 11, 1785 by Wilhelm Herschel with an 18.7-inch reflector telescope, who described it as "eF, vS, 240 power left a little doubt".
