NGC 5245 is a 14.2 mag bright lens-shaped galaxy with an active nucleus of the Hubble-type S0 / a in the constellation Virgo on the ecliptic. It is an estimated 304 million light years from the Milky Way and about 70,000 light years across.

In the same area of ​​the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 5213 , NGC 5231 , NGC 5246 , NGC 5252 .

The object was discovered by Albert Marth on April 30, 1864 .
