NGC 5260 is a 12.8 mag bright bar-spiral-shaped Seyfert galaxy (type 2) of the Hubble type SBbc in the constellation Water Snake . It is about 822 million light years from the Milky Way .
The object was discovered by Lewis A. Swift on April 6, 1885 .
