NGC 5343 is a 12.9 likes bright lenticular galaxy of Hubble type e-S0 in the constellation Virgo . It is estimated to be 114 million light years from the Milky Way .
It was discovered on March 5, 1785 by Wilhelm Herschel with an 18.7-inch reflector telescope, who described it as "F, S, iR, lbM".
