NGC 5349 is a 14.1 mag bright bar-spiral galaxy of the Hubble type "SBb" in the constellation Hounds in the northern sky . It is an estimated 260 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 130,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of ​​the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 5341 , NGC 5351 , IC 4339 , IC 4340 .

The object was discovered on March 24, 1857 by RJ Mitchell , an assistant to William Parsons .
