NGC 5356 is a barred spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBbc in the constellation Virgo in the northern sky . It is around 60 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of around 15,000 light years .
The object was discovered on February 2, 1786 by William Herschel .
