NGC 5341 is a 13.6 mag bar -spiral shaped radio galaxy of the Hubble type SBd in the constellation Hounds in the northern sky . It is an estimated 166 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 60,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 5349 , NGC 5351 , IC 4339 , IC 4340 .
The object was discovered on March 24, 1857 by R. J. Mitchell , an assistant to William Parsons .
