NGC 5342 is a 13.5 likes bright lenticular galaxy of Hubble type S0 in the constellation Ursa Major . It is estimated to be 103 million light years from the Milky Way .
It was discovered on March 19, 1790 by Wilhelm Herschel with an 18.7-inch reflector telescope, who described it as "vF, vS".
